James Maddock is a critically acclaimed British singer/songwriter with a raw, soulful voice and a unique blend of folk rock and Americana. His music captivates listeners worldwide, combining deep emotion with refined melodies. James began his career as frontman of the Columbia Records band Wood. Their debut album Songs From Stamford Hill included the song Stay You (which was BBC Radio 2 Record of the Week) and was used in TV series such as Dawson's Creek.

After relocating from England to New York City, James Maddock built an impressive solo career. His album Sunrise On Avenue C won a New York Music Award for Best Americana Album, while its follow-up, Wake Up And Dream, was voted one of the best albums of the year by listeners of WFUV (New York City). Radio producer Vin Scelsa praised Maddock's music as ‘heartbreakingly beautiful and exquisitely crafted, music that touches the soul’.

James has performed alongside numerous renowned artists and bands, including Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, The Waterboys, The Counting Crows, and Willie Nile. His songs have been featured in well-known American television programmes and Hollywood films, and he has co-written songs with artists such as Gary Barlow and The Waterboys. Rolling Stone magazine named him the “man to watch”. In June and July 2025, James visited the Netherlands for the first time during his European tour. Furthermore, James was the support act for The Counting Crows during their 2025 European tour, which included performances at venues like the Royal Circus in Brussels, AFAS Live in Amsterdam and the iconic Wembley Stadium in London. His new album Forever June will be released in the spring of 2026,followed by a new European tour in May/June 2026, once again accompanied by percussionist Nick Murphy.
