James Maddock

James Maddock is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter whose raw, soulful voice and unique blend of folk rock and Americana touches audiences worldwide. After fronting the Columbia Records band ‘Wood,’ whose debut album ‘Songs From Stamford Hill’ was featured on TV shows such as ‘Dawson’s Creek’ and included the BBC Radio 2 Record of the Week track ‘Stay You,’ Maddock relocated from England to New York City. His album ‘Sunrise On Avenue C’ won a New York Music Award for Best Americana Album, and his follow-up ‘Wake Up And Dream’ was ranked among the top albums of the year in WFUV’s (NYC) Listener Poll. Vin Scelsa has praised Maddock's music as “heartbreakingly beautiful and exquisitely crafted music that touches the soul".

James has performed alongside many notable figures in American music, including Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, The Waterboys, The Counting Crows and Willie Nile. As a songwriter, he has had many of his songs featured in both mainstream US TV and Hollywood Blockbuster films and has co-written songs with other well-known artists such as Gary Barlow, The Waterboys and more. Rolling Stone magazine named him as the ‘man to watch’.

In June/July 2025, James will tour the Netherlands for the first time with six shows including at the Oostkerk, the Torpedo theatre and the Cactus. In the autumn, James will also be the support act for the Counting Crows on their European tour, performing at the Royal Circus, Brussels, on September 21st, 2025 and at AFAS Live, Amsterdam on September 22nd, 2025, among others. Autumn 2025 will also see the release of James' new album “Forever June”.
