Reto Burrell

Reto Burrell

Since his debut album Echo Park (2001), Reto Burrell has developed his own musical style at the intersection of rock, pop, country, folk and blues. That unique mix - combined with meaningful lyrics and his recognisable voice - earned him international success. In March 2026, Burrell will come to the Netherlands and Belgium for a tour.

With twelve albums under his name, he remains a leading and innovative force within the Americana scene. He has worked with luminaries like Grammy winner Chris Testa, producer Greg Droman and top musicians like Bryan Sutton and Aubrey Haynie. He is also a sought-after producer and songwriter in his home country. His work is praised for its authenticity and craftsmanship.

On his latest album XII, Burrell takes a more introspective approach. Using only his voice and acoustic guitar, he returns to the essence of his music. Sparsely added instruments create an intimate, pure atmosphere. During his Acoustic Tour, he brings this concept to life on stage - closer to his audience than ever before. His style is reminiscent of artists like Graham Parker and John Cougar Mellencamp, but Burrell always remains himself: unmistakable, authentic and unique.

Dutch reviews about XII:

  • MuziScene: "A brilliant collection of acoustic-based Americana songs."

  • Real Roots Café: "A melodious blend of country, folk, pop and rock that fits seamlessly into Reto Burrell's excellent repertoire."

  • Keys and Chords: "The album has all the hallmarks of why we have come to love Burrell: catchy melodies, meaningful lyrics, great acoustic guitar riffs and heartfelt vocals with folk, americana and blues as benchmarks."

International praise:

  • Rolling Stone about Lucky Charm (2014): “A great songwriter's album from the Swiss man with American roots.”

  • Americana UK: “Timeless roots-rock-Americana.”

  • Tracks Magazine: “The Swiss Tom Petty.”
